TERRORISM: OLUBADAN TASKS LADOJA, OTHERS TO BE VIGILANT

  The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, has tasked the newly elevated High Chiefs in Ibadanland to be security conscious and prevent infiltration of their communities by terrorists and other criminals. The Olubadan, who was represented by the Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Tajudeen Ajibola, said this at the installation of the High Chiefs to their new offices in Ibadan on Friday. Those elevated were former Governor Rashidi Ladoja from Osi Olubadan to Otun Olubadan; High Chief Eddy Oyewole from Ashipa Olubadan to Osi Olubadan; High Chief Abiodun Kola-Daisi from Ekerin Olubadan to Ashipa Olubadan; High Chief  Hamidu Ajibade from Ekarun Olubadan to Ekerin Olubadan; and Adebayo Akande from Abese Olubadan to Ekarun Olubadan of Ibadanland. TINUBU AND YAHAYA BELLO IN A CLOSED-DOOR MEETING

  The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is currently in a closed-door meeting with Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, in what political observers said was part of reconciliatory moves to pacify aggrieved aspirants of the APC presidential ticket. Tinubu was accompanied to the meeting on Friday by Governors  Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos); Bello Matawalle (Zamfara); and Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano). A former governor of Edo State and former national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, is also in the entourage.  KWARA Dumping APC not solution, Lai Mohammed begs aggrieved associates    Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has appealed to aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State to reconsider their decision to dump the party in the state. The minister, who is also from Kwara, made this known in a statement on Tuesday. He urged the defectors to return to their “natural habitat” for their grievances to be addressed ahead of the 2023 elections. TRAIN BOMB - TERRORISTS BOMB KADUNA-ABUJA TRAIN

  Some terrorists have reportedly bombed the Abuja-Kaduna-bound rail track on Monday. It was learnt that an Abuja-Kaduna-bound filled with passengers derailed after the improvised explosive device planted by the terrorists went off. The terrorists, subsequently, attacked the train with many passengers reportedly injured. It was gathered that some of the 970 passengers on board might have been abducted by the attackers. It was gathered that security operatives have been deployed to the scene of the attack. This is coming a few days after the terrorists attacked the Kaduna International Airport where an aircraft was prevented from taking off. A source told our correspondent that “they (terrorists) planted IED. When it went off, it derailed the train. There was pandemonium every and some people may be kidnapped.” There was no police confirmation as of the time of filing this report. However, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Cooperation, Fidet Okhiria,  confirmed the incident.
